Amicus Property Finance prevents delay on £1m development
Amicus was approached to fund the acquisition of a cleared site in an established student accommodation area in Sheffield. The site had previously been used for warehousing and storage, and now had full planning permission for a 127 bed student accommodation scheme, with a market value of a little over £1m.
This case highlights the value of our stakeholder proposition. All interested parties were included in the process from the start and our chosen partners were all aware of each other's requirements from the outset.
The developer, having a surveying background, was experienced in this type of purchase and was very hands on and attended on-site meetings with our underwriter and valuer.
At Amicus Property Finance, we always look to deliver a solution and actively work with all our stakeholder partners to continually improve our proposition. This came into play when we were able to open up our network to this developer when the original contractor withdrew during the underwriting process.
With this swift intervention, the completion suffered no delays. The site has since been acquired and the development is progressing on track.
I was with Mayfair Bridging before we became part of Amicus Property Finance and I take great pride and personal satisfaction in the 'can do' team spirit we have to get cases like these successfully over the lineChris Roscoe
